Hi there! My name is Melissa Beckley-Castro. I am so honored to be your teacher this year! Here is a little bit about me and I can not wait to learn all about you!

I am a mom of two beautiful children. AJ is my step-son who is 11 years old and Mia is 3 years old.

I grew up in Oakland California and moved to Colorado when I was 16. I can not imagine living anywhere else because I love Colorado very much. I lived in Boulder for a long time and then moved to Denver when I was ready to go to college. I got a degree is Speech Communication (I really love to talk!) from the Metropolitan State College of Denver. I returned to the college that I love to get my teaching license and that is what brought me here to this classroom! My most favorite thing to do is to read. I learned how to read when I was 4 years old and have read tons of books ever since. My favorite author growing up was Judy Blume. I am looking forward to sharing my love of books with you. My children and I love to be outside. We love to dig in dirt to find worms or other creepy crawly bugs that may be hiding under rocks. We love to take walks and go to parks. Our favorite thing to do together is to discover new parks that we had never visited before. This is my first year teaching and I look forward to all the learning and fun we will have. We will be introducing technology into our classroom. You will learn basic computer usage as well as some fun applications throughout the school year!
